This house fell victim to the Simonstown fire and the interior was completely gutted. On our first visit to the site we were saddened by the damage caused by the fire. Burned books on blackened bookshelves, old LP records melted into pools of vinyl and irreplaceable personal items were destroyed.
Furnished with photos of what the joinery looked like prior to the fire, we are asked to replicate what was there before with some improvement and additions. The walk in closet, study, and new vanity are 76 Build concepts and design.
To bring the kitchen back to life, we used Satin Duco spray doors with finger grip on the kitchen units covered with Caeserstone and solid oak tops. We added solid oak spice inserts in the pantry unit and mirrored the solid oak in the vegetable baskets that are set in the kitchen island. All kitchen hardware is by Hettich from Germany.
The book case and new wrap-around shelving unit on the kitchen peninsula are oak veneer with a solid edge.
